A couple of us were interested in joining hundreds of HSHA supporters as they “take the plunge” for homeless animals on New Year’s Day! The Penguin Plunge is an annual fundraiser for the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area (HSHA) that has become a central Pennsylvania tradition for both HSHA and the City of Harrisburg. During the event, more than 300 HSHA supporters “take the plunge” into the icy waters of the Susquehanna River, as hundreds more watch from the shore. They ask that each participant raise or donate a minimum of $40. Individuals who raise over $75 will receive an event towel. For teams to receive towels, each member must raise at least $75.
This would be another great opportunity for recruiting and team bonding while raising money for homeless puppies and kittens! If we get enough people signed up we can do teams. If you would like to do that please let me know!
If you would like to register online before the day of the event you can go to the event website and choose your donation amount and register or download the donation form for you to print off and take around to get donations.
New this year, every participant will receive a FREE ticket to “ValenWine’s Day” sponsored by the Hershey Harrisburg Wine Country. The event takes place February 10-11, and 17-18 from Noon to 5:00 p.m. At each participating winery you will receive two (2) chocolate pairings with wines and a 10% discount on purchases and a normal wine tasting. So what are we waiting for???
